Habañero peppers can range from bright orange to deep red to brown, white or even pink. The heat range is typically between 100,000-300,000 Scoville units, with red or darker varieties being hotter than lighter colored ones. Habañeros are among the hottest peppers available and should not be taken lightly.



The peppers themselves are shorter and thicker than most other cultivars, growing from 24-36 inches tall. Space plants 24-36 from each other. Habañeros can first be harvested about 90 days after transplanting, and will become hotter as they reach full maturity.
